I have always been intrigued with the relationships between animal forms and pottery forms, and how this relationship has been so commonly used in so many cultures. Pots that possess animal-like characteristics seem to carry a life of their own. They also seem to use their inherent qualities to complement each other, especially in pouring forms such as the chamber pots in this exhibition.

In my work I am influenced by a variety of things ranging form architecture to animals these influences are not always intended to be presented very directly, but rather with a sense of alluding to their origins. The resulting pots are usually something odd, but I know that came form my personal insights. These historical chamber pots are odd to me in their interpretations, yet this sense of mystery is what makes them so interesting .I can appreciate the longevity and evolution of these forms.
