周武离不开浙江龙泉的那一片青山绿水，他在这块土壤上打下的深厚的传统基础使他对材料和器型的感悟超过了他的同代人。他的“石材”追寻着对自然的憧憬和对人工雕琢的厌弃，然而在这“不是雕琢”中又能看出他在每一块石头造型和肌理的反复思考和推敲。而他的“炼金”系列白色的泥土质地和金色的条痕形成一种清冷的对比，使他对器皿在脱离传统意义上的把握同时也是对拜金主义的一种反讽。

Zhou Wu cannot be separated from the green hills and pure rivers of Longquan in Zhejiang province .The solid traditional foundations which he has laid in this land give him a more pronounced feeling for materials and shapes than many of his generation .His “rocks” are a search for a passionate love of nature and a rejection of ornate decoration .Yet in this “non-decoration” ,his constant contemplation and refining are evident in the shape and texture of each rock . And in his “smelting gold” series ,the whiteness of the clay and the gold lines form a cool contrast-reflecting both his mastery of taking pots away form their traditional meaning ,and a satire on our worship of luxury .(Editor)
