Paula
Winokur is an American ceramic artist. In 1958 she got
her B.F.A.at Tyler School of Art, Temple University and
in that summer she studied in SUNY College of Ceramics
at Alfred University. From 1973 to 2003, she is a
professor of Arcadia University, Glenside, PA. She has
received many awards, such asHonorary Fellow: National
Council on Education in the Ceramics Arts (1987);
Pennsylvania Council for the Arts. Craftsman’s
Fellowship (1986); National Endowment for the Arts,
Visual Arts Fellowships (1988/1976) and Fellow of
American Crafts Council (2002). She held many solo
exhibitions, e.g. , in Dorothy Marae Gallery, Atlanta,
Georgia (1994): Long Island University, Southampton,
N.Y. (1995); Helen Drutt Gallery, New York (1990); Helen
Drutt Gallery: Philadelphia (Gallery Representative)
(1978/82/88/92/99); Clay Art Center, Port Chester, New
York (2003). Her works have also been included in First
Yixing Ceramic Invitational, Yixing, China (1998). The
1st World Ceramic Biennial: Korea (2001), and so on. Her
works are collected in museum such as Jingdezhen Ceramic
Art Institute, China; National Museum of American Art
(Renwick Gallery), Washington, D.C. and Mint Museum,
Charlotte, N.C.
