INTRODUCTION
Royce was born in 1949
He was educated at Waimea College Richmond Nelson.
1996 began a 5-year apprenticeship at Waimea Pottery in
Richmond NZ
1989-1994 Designer for Temuka Pottery NZ
1989 Awarded MBE for Services to Pottery in New Zealand
1988 Became member IAC
From 1987 Royce had also produced works on paper
primarily using gouache.
1985 Attended an IAC symposium to in Tennessee USA
1980 the pottery was relocated to its present site at
128 Ellis St Brightwater
Nelson.
1975 Royce returned to New Zealand and established his
first Pottery at Beach Road in
Richmond.
Since 1975 Royce has run his own Ceramic Art Studio and
gallery where he displays and sells his ceramic works
and paintings. Over the years he has employed staff
providing a full training programme covering all the
aspects of pottery production. Royce has always produced
tableware for domestic use. Decoration has always been a
feature of his work. Royce also produces ceramic art
pieces and these have won awards, and been included in
exhibitions in many parts of the world
1972~1975 Royce traveled and worked in Australia and
England, and Visited South Africa and
Europe
1971 he qualified as a Master Potter
