INTRODUCTION
A native of
Ningbo，Zhejiang
Province．Born
in November of 1942 and a graduate from the art
department of Jingdezhen Ceramics Academy in 1966. He
works as a professor and postgraduate tutor in
Jingdezhen Ceramics Academy. He is a member of China
Artists’ Association, director of sculpture committee of
JiangXi Province, president of Kaolin Ceramic Art
Association and expert with Government subsidy provided
by the State Council.
As an
artist of great attainment, his works are distinctive
for their avant-garde Styles with traditional
characteristics. He is present in sculpture and ceramic
art exhibitions at home and abroad and has been awarded
many prizes and medals. He is a famous ceramic artist
and sculptor. Both at home and abroad.
2001 “The
Century Baby” series were selected into” 20th Century
World Ceramics Exhibition” of the First World Ceramics
Exposition in Korea．The
exhibition showed the works by 36 artists from all over
the world．The
author is the only one from China．His
”Century Baby” was collected and published in all the
ceramic art magazines and publications.
1999 His
ceramic sculpture, ”Soul of Ceramics”. was installed at
the entrance of Jiangxi Porcelain Garden in the World
Gardening Fair in Kunming, Yunnan Province, and was I
awarded the Gold Prize by the organizing committee.
1995 His
marble mural, “Nature’s Treasures"，was
installed in the lobby of Jiangxi Opera House.
1991 His
sculptures, “Pottery” and ”Mother Columns” series,
enjoyed high regards from foreign artists and critics.
“Pottery" was collected by Everson Ceramic Museum
1988 Bronze
mural, “Dancers of the Tang Dynasty” (the Bronze Medal),
for the Tang Dynasty Gallery of Tengwang Pavilion in
Jiangxi Province
1987 His
group urban sculpture, “Porcelain and Pottery”, was
awarded the Merit Prize (the second prize) in the First
China Urban Sculpture Project Exhibition sponsored by
the Ministry of Culture，China
Urban and Rural Environment Construction
＆Protection
Committee and China Artists’ Association. (with Mr. Kang
Zhong)
The
sculpture, Goddess of One-Hundred Flowers, the trophy
for the One-Hundred-Flower Prize of China Film Festival
1984 He was
engaged in the First China Urban Sculpture Project
Exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, China
Urban and Rural Environment Construction & Protection
Committee and China Artists’ Association．His
urban sculpture, “Immortal of Wisdom”, was awarded the
Grand Prix which was featured in the “Art” magazine.
1982 He was
invited by Shanghai Film Studio to work as the art
director(mainly responsible for designs and ceramic
creations)of “Porcelain Baby”, the first film about the
ceramic sculpture in China. The film was awarded the
One-Hundred Flower Prize in 1983
