The process of my work is the following one,
about a metaphoric idea outlined from my
point of view and my expression form.
I work in series of pieces that usually last
from 2 to 5 years, and that they go evolving
with the step of the time until becoming a
new series, floor to make some drawings or
scale models of the pieces go great format
and work directly without previous drawing
on the small pieces.
From the beginning of my work in 1965 .I
have used the refractory earth to be the one
that adapts to my way of working, up to 1981
I burned my pieces to low temperature 1100℃.1ater
I fired to 1280℃,
using fine enamels or slips and decorating
the pieces with metallic oxides on the
enamel or directly on the earth.
The cocions is oxidizers or reduction
according to the interest of the piece,
fired in electric oven or gas according to
the size of the works and my personal
interests.
The pieces floor to burn them in
mono-coccion to high temperature, although
later I usually return them to fire to
different temperatures as many times as is
necessary so that the piece had been
finished.
According to that work floor, I add some
recovered part of lead, material that adapts
to the earth for their high great ductility,
and that has a great tradition in the world
of the ceramics.
The pieces go signed in the later part with
my signature (MADOLA)and the year when I
carried out.
The sizes of my works oscillate among the
30cm*15cm*10cm up to 180cm*60cm*70 cm, all
are pieces made by hand by myself in my
study of Premia of Dalt.
I also work in works for public spaces, and
it is in this case that I use my study to
make all the scale models, the samples and
projects for this realization. The execution
of the work is carries out in specialized
shops or in manufacture ceramic factories
where it foresaw agreement so I can carry
out my work to great scale.
For the work in public spaces I also use
industrial products which I manipulate or I
change the color, also 1 work with the
levels of the University, such as the case
of the Polytechnic of Manchester.
In conclusion, this is my work process that
I use to express a feeling through the mud,
through which I am good to express my ideas
and my expression form.
