ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Nature is my main source of inspiration: plants,
leaves, roots, water and wind.
Natural phenomena have been an everlasting source of
inspiration for me, such as the Milky Way or the
rise and fall of waves, representing eternal,
natural movements.
After each of my foreign travels to Mexico, Turkey and Japan
I returned to my workshop with a wealth of new ideas
in colours, forms and textures, which thoroughly
influenced the development of my work.
The combination of rational with irrational, organic forms
symbolizes the grafting of emotions onto the
intellect, this is a dynamic environment infused
with a static haven of peace.
I feel that there should be a balance or harmony between the
positive and negative elements, between the inner
and outer forms, between the size and weight.
For me, movement as expressed by form is the most important
thing, as it is a constant reminder of an original
state.
I always make groups of works which are based on a common
theme, like the Galaxy, the Terra, the Hydras and
Botanica series. |
